Chinese Restaurants in Düsseldorf

Almost every month new Chinese restaurants are popping up here in Düsseldorf.

Huawei Canteen

First of all, most of the people in Germany pronounce the company name in a wrong / german way. Huawei is the Pinyin form for 华为, those two chinese characters, the way I understand it, mean the achievement of China / Chinese. This canteen is sadly not open to the public, but if you know someone who is working at Huawei, definitely try it out. Huawei Canteen has a fixed price for lunch and dinner, which costs 6,07 Euro for a Chinese or European buffet. At lunch time they offer different Chinese noodle or speciality. They have different menu every week and the admin manager will send an email to each employee with the menu for next week. How cute is that and how motivated.

Konfuzius 孔子

Heerdter Landstraße 59, 40549 Düsseldorf
Relatively near Huawei, so many Chinese will be there if they have a department get-together during the lunch break. Recommend the lamb hotpot 羊肉锅.

Little Lamb 小尾羊

Kölner Str. 14, 40211 Düsseldorf

Restaurant Jinling 金陵

Düsseldorf China Center / DCC, Königsallee 106, 40215 Düsseldorf If you want to experience some Peking duck slicing “ceremony” and are tired of cheesy decorated & not authentic chinese restaurants, here is where you should try out.

China Restaurant Three Kingdoms 诸葛烤鱼

Stresemannstraße 4, 40210 Düsseldorf
Careful! This one is really spicy and how Chinese Sichuan Cuisine really taste like. The spiciness comes from the mixture of garlic and chilli peppers. The very unique flavour of Sichuan peppers will make your whole mouth “tingly-numb” and it stays like this for some minutes. People whether love it or hate it. In China we call it 小地雷 (little mine), the moment you step on to it by mistake, the explode happens in your mouth.

Chuan Chuan Plus 串门Plus

Mertensgasse 19, 40213 Düsseldorf

Chuan Chuan串门

Klosterstraße 53, 40211 Düsseldorf

Authentic chinese spicy food. Be careful if you haven’t been to China or can’t eat spicy. It’s more like an existence just for Chinese in Düsseldorf. You probably would neglact it or just walk by when you see that tiny storefront.

Hutong Bistro 胡同小馆

Adersstraße 24, 40215 Düsseldorf
Try the 冰花饺子! It is starch that contributes to this style and taste.

华丰 Hua Feng

Ecke, Immermannstraße, Charlottenstraße 46, 40210 Düsseldorf
Chinese Dim Sum shop, not the Hong Kong style though, more the mainland style. I was attracted to this shop because of the 煎饼果子 (Chinese Crepes). It is one of China’s most popular street breakfasts, you can have it at anytime during the day though. The 生煎包( pan-fried steamed buns, Shanghai speciality) here isn’t the highlight. In Shanghai, each bite comes with pork soup running out from the buns.

The main ingredients of jianbing are a batter of wheat and grain flour, eggs and sauces. It can be topped with different fillings and sauces such as baocui (薄脆, thin and crispy fried cracker), ham, chopped or diced mustard picklesscallions and corianderchili sauce or hoisin sauce depending on personal preference. It is often folded several times before serving.

Fu Chunyuan 富春园火锅城

Stresemannstraße 46, 40210 Düsseldorf
There are a lot of Chinese Hot Pot Restaurants in town but this one is probably the cheapest all-you-can-eat in Dusseldorf. Drinks are also inclusive in the 19.88 Euro/Person. You can find quite a lot Japanese here, since the Shabu Shabu or Sukiyaki are much more pricy if you eat it in a Japanese restaurant. Ingredients here aren’t the freshest, but it is already pretty fair to its price.

Fuyu台灣美食坊

Immermannstraße 46, 40210 Düsseldorf
Come here at lunch time and enjoy the lunch set for 10 Euro. You could get authentic stirred noodles with soaked in soya sauce minced pork meat, sour-spicy-soup (egg drops, tofu, Jew’s ear mushrooms) and taiwanese fried chicken.

Uighur Restaurant

Oststraße 120, 40210 Düsseldorf
Xinjiang cuisine is what you can find here. 大盆鸡 (Big plate chicken) with wide flat hand-pulled noodles is a must-try. The tasty chicken sauce is all soaked up by the chewy noodles. Just the thought of that makes you drivel.

Hot One

Friedrichstraße 132, 40217 Düsseldorf
Another hotpot and BBQ all you can eat. 22,80 Euro each person and the first drink is inclusive. The BBQ is not that amazing, it uses a paper and is heated by electricity. Taro and pumpkin slices are unexpected delicious once you BBQ them. You can order a beer and enjoy them as after-eating snacks.

新城 New City

Herzogstraße 38, 40215 Düsseldorf
My friend from Guangdong told me that this Dim Sum House is so authentic and delicious, that it can even compete some of those in Amsterdam or Den Haag. I tried it out and can’t understand why I haven’t been there earlier.
The Chinese brunch 点心 diǎnxīn is prepared as small bite-sized portions of food served in small steamer baskets or on a small plate.  There are so different salty and sweet types, read it in the Wikipedia link above and you will find how mind blowing Dim Sums are.
